Never thought I would rate a Chinese made product so high. But this coffee press is outstanding, the quality is excellent, looks great and makes the best coffee i ever tasted. I loved the old Fabuware pots they lasted forever and made great coffee, but when they started to make them in China they lasted for only a few months and broke down. never thought i would find a way to make coffee that tasted that good again. The new coffee makers are all plastic and the taste of the coffee is always bitter and tastes of plastic. however this coffee press made me enjoy my coffee again. The only thing you have to remember is to use course ground coffee, the all purpose grind does not taste good. Just buy the beans and grind them in the store on the course setting and enjoy the best coffee you ever tasted. I swore i would never buy anything again made in china but this is an exception Frieling is holding the Chinese to a quality product for sure.

This is a quality product and has met or exceeded my expectations in every detail.
First, it is insulated which is where most french presses fail. The insulation is not so you can keep you coffee hot between cups; it is there to keep the coffee hot while brewing. Successful use of a french press requires 5-8 minutes of soaking the grinds in boiling hot water. At the end of that time, the water still needs to be very hot to have been properly brewed and enjoyable in the cup. A press without insulation is utterly worthless.
Second, the screen is durable and the whole product is tough and as a bonus it looks good.
A few tips important for a successful experience with a french press.
1) Preheat the press and the coffee cups with hottest tap water so there is very little heat lost from the actual coffee.
2) Use very fresh course grinds. I use 2 on the scale of 1-8. Never use drip maker grinds or espresso grinds. So you will need a burr coffee grinder
3) Use good coffee beans, look past the flavored grocery store beans.
4) Never make more than you drink in one round. This is not a storage container.

this item is well made from heavy gauge stainless steel and has a well built plunger and screen and the only reason I give it 4 stars is the high cost and that the handle was welded on a little off center,other than that it should give years of service without fear of breakage

I bought this for my husbands birthday. He has been using it daily since! and anytime we have company he makes them coffee from this. Everyone has agreed it makes the best cup of coffee they have ever had! It also looks great on the counter! and also the filter fits so tightly we haven’t had an issue with “runaway” coffee grounds.
